One and a half Pomatomus complete! The color is crazy off, and in the photo below, the sock on the left is inside-out to show the yarn ends. The sock (made for a 9 inch long foot) took exactly one skein of Koigu. That was a close one… Again, the pattern rocks, and I pretty much followed it exactly.

We returned Amherst MA a few weekends ago, the first time we’ve been there since moving to TX. I had an awesome beer at the Moan+Dove – a sour ale that was quite delish. On the plane ride there and back, I knit a bunny hat from the blanket leftovers. The pattern is from Stitch and Bitch Nation, and I used Webs’ Longmeadow yarn for the white parts. I wound up buying enough for a cardigan, in the dark blue color. The yarn is pretty soft, but feels a tad acrylic-y when knitting it. I also picked up a few balls of Cashmerino Superchunky (half off in a discontinued olive green), likely for an Anthroplogie-inspired capelet.

Ugh – knitting this damn baby blanket!

Never, never, never will I knit another baby blanket out of dk weight yarn. It feels like I’ve been working on this thing for years. Pattern is the Oat Couture Prairie Blanket, made out of Classic Elite Provence in colors that are way different than the photo. I bought the yarn years ago, and some of it has been reknit 3 times. I must say, the reknit parts were very soft…

The lighter pink border was my effort to save yarn – I knew that I had about 200 yards less of the dark purple than the pattern called for, but I feared that I wouldn’t be able to find a matching dye lot. Turns out that (even with the $#@! intarsia-attached light purple border) I was way short anyway, and I did successfully find an exact match in a different dye lot. Whew!

Last weekend we were going to Clear Lake City in the evening and were looking for something to do, so we visited Space Center Houston during the day. We took the tram tour and saw the lovely engine that’s pictured here.

Also been watching Project Runway – I finally saw the 2nd last episode tonight. Love the show, and Santino’s collection looks pretty kickass. But, um, Debra Messing as a judge on the final episode?
