A Case of the Clap

Houston was brrrrr cold this weekend, so I shockingly got to wear my newly-finished Clapotis! I worked on it over the course of about a year, very on-and-off. The yarn is Noro Shinano, color #14, which is discontinued. I really like the tweedy texture of the yarn (the white parts are undyed silk), and the stripey purple-pink-grey colorway is fab.

When I purchased the yarn on ebay, I didn’t realize that the colorway included this crazy garish teal-green color. What’s a resourceful girl to do but cut out all the green bits and spit splice the yarn back together… Those poor little balls of yarn are the remainders. They don’t look so bad, but they are bright-as-hell teal inside.

Nice idea to substitute the Clapotis yarn with Noro Shinano. I really like the look of your Clapotis – should keep you warm! But what? You don’t like the teal in this colourway? Not at all or did it only disturb the overall picture for this scarf? I love this part of the skeins! Well, taste.. no need to argue ;-)
PS. Any progress on your Pomatomus sock?
